Parent, child, and sibling relationships evolve over time and can be challenging in many stages. Conflicts occur when young adults are struggling to launch independently, adults may move back in with parents, and many empty nesters or parents of teens have to balance the needs of dependent seniors. Financial matters following divorce or the loss of a family member can also put strains on adult relationships.
Ken has spent years studying and practicing the various ways that adversarial relationships can become more aligned, coexist and become more healthy and close.
Teenagers! Teenage years are associated with rapid increases in independence, impulsivity, exploration, and boundary pushing. Parents are often ill-equipped to navigate the world of modern teen parenting that includes social media, technology everywhere and vastly different social norms and expectations than existed 20-40 years ago.
The result: conflict. Parents and teens often argue about chores, homework, disrespectful behavior and family responsibilities. Ken has raised two teens of his own into adulthood and has studied the dynamics of teen/parent relationship to help create a greater sense of calm and alliance in households.
