Ken is a licensed therapist with 30+ years working in the technology industry as a statistician, clinical researcher, and data scientist. Ken has a diverse background in statistics (MS, Stanford), health sciences (MHS, Johns Hopkins), and clinical psychology (MS, Note Dame de Namur; PsyD in progress).
After gaining broad experience that includes grief/loss, anxiety, depression, dissociative identity, personality disorders, trauma, autism spectrum, and ADHD just to name a few, Ken now focuses his therapeutical attention in two areas. He does relationship support (families, couples, individuals) and has a second specialty in helping those in the LGBTQ+ community.
He believes that positive relationships with parents, siblings, partners and children are central to emotional well-being and life satisfaction.
When not with clients, Ken enjoys researching the behaviors, practices, and beliefs that keep couples together and what drives them apart. This research informs his hands-on practice with couples, families and individuals.
He works with couples looking to improve their relationship using techniques that improve closeness, trust, intimacy, empathy and collaboration. He also works with couples who seek a neutral space to safely end their relationship.
And, Ken's relationship work extends to families and individuals. Family conflict is often between teens and parents but Ken also has experience working with adult children who are having conflicts with siblings or parents in their 50s to 70s+.
When working with the LGBTQ+ community, Ken enjoys working with transgender and queer youth in understanding their gender identity and sexuality and also treats gender dysphoria, as needed. Ken also has extensive experience working with gay, lesbian, pan and poly couples.
Ken uses an immersive, hands-on, directive approach which is humanistic and empathetic while also pushing you in areas where growth is needed.
