Sam Little, AMFT (#155805)

Relationships, Caregiving, and Life Transitions

I work with individuals and couples who are navigating the emotional complexity of caring for others, figuring out who they are, and trying to stay connected in the midst of it all. Many of my clients are used to showing up for others, but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to take care of themselves at the same time.

My approach is both insight-oriented and practical. I draw from interpersonal, acceptance-based, and skills-focused therapies (including interpersonal behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy) to help clients better understand their internal experiences while also building tools for navigating relationships more effectively. We might explore patterns that show up in your relationships, practice new ways of communicating, or work on staying grounded through difficult emotions rather than getting pulled away by them.

I aim to create a space that feels warm, collaborative, and safe. Therapy can be a place where you make sense of what’s going on, feel supported, and begin to make meaningful changes at your own pace.

Individuals (50 min.): $150

Couples/Families (60 min.), $180

Individual Therapy for Caregivers

I work with individuals who are caring for a child, partner, or parent experiencing physical or mental health challenges.

Caregiving can be deeply meaningful, but it can also feel exhausting, isolating, and hard to sustain on your own.

In therapy, we make space for your experience and how the role you're in may be affecting you. We can work on navigating burnout, guilt, and competing demands, while also building skills to set boundaries, ask for support, and stay connected to yourself alongside the care you provide to others.

Individual Therapy for Teens and Young Adults

I support teens and young adults who may be feeling anxious, depressed, or unsure of where they fit in. This stage of life often comes with pressure, identity questions, and shifting relationships, which can leave people feeling disconnected from themselves and others.

Our work focuses on helping you better understand yourself while also strengthening how you relate to others. We might look at patterns in relationships, build communication skills, or develop ways to handle difficult thoughts and emotions so they feel less overwhelming. The goal is to help you feel more grounded, more confident, and more connected.

Couples Therapy for Parents of Children and Teens

I work with couples who are navigating the challenges of parenting children and teens while trying to stay connected as partners. Parenting can bring new stressors, such as differences in parenting approaches, communication breakdowns, and less time or energy for the relationship.

In our work together, we focus on improving communication, strengthening teamwork, and rebuilding connection. This might include learning how to navigate conflict more effectively, better understand each other’s perspectives, and find ways to feel like partners again, rather than just co-parents.
